Who we are

***---------***

Founded in 1983 in loving memory of Keshab Chandra Chakravarti, our Samiti carries his name forward through deeds, not words.

What began as a small group of neighbours organising a single blood donation camp has grown into one of Shibpur's most trusted welfare societies. We believe that real change happens locally β€” at the bedside of a patient who cannot afford surgery, at the roadside on a freezing winter night, in the classroom of a child who deserves a proper school.

Every rupee donated and every hour volunteered goes directly toward people in need. We keep our work transparent, our overheads low, and our doors open to everyone who wants to help.

Our Vision

A compassionate society where no person is denied healthcare, dignity or opportunity because of poverty β€” and where neighbours look after neighbours.

Our Mission

To deliver direct, dependable relief in healthcare and welfare β€” through blood donation, eye care, cataract surgery support, winter relief and community development.

Our Objectives

  • Run regular blood & eye camps
  • Fund surgeries for the poor
  • Shelter & warm the homeless
  • Build educational infrastructure
In whose memory we serve

Keshab Chandra Chakravarti

β€œService to people is the truest form of devotion.”

The Samiti was established by family, friends and well-wishers to honour Keshab Chandra Chakravarti's lifelong commitment to his community. His belief β€” that small, consistent acts of kindness change lives β€” remains the foundation of everything we do.

Today the organisation is guided by a dedicated managing committee of volunteers, medical advisors and community elders who give their time freely.

Building futures: School infrastructure development

Our flagship CSR-supported initiative β€” the construction of a new school building at Tantiberia Sarada Sishu Mandir β€” funded in partnership with India's leading public sector enterprises.

Construction of School Building at Tantiberia Sarada Sishu Mandir

Generations of children in Tantiberia learned in cramped, unsafe rooms. Together with our CSR partners, we are constructing a modern, safe and spacious school building β€” giving these children the dignified learning environment every child deserves.
